MY JOURNEY TOWARD MENTAL PERFORMANCE

From a young age, I've always been fascinated by human behaviour and psychology. My basketball career allowed me to start my bachelor's degree in psychology at Upper Iowa University (Iowa, IA) in 2014 and to finish it at the Université du Québec at Montréal in 2019 - UQAM (Montréal, Canada).

After my bachelor's degree, I decided to do a Master's in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom. This gave me the opportunity to carry on research about student-athletes motivation and psychological well-being in relation to their academic and athletic goals.

In the midst of COVID-19, I felt like it was time to reflect on my professional career. In September 2020, I began to complete my consulting hours to become a mental performance consultant under the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (CSPA). Over time, I have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of athletes from all sports, contexts, and situations. I'm looking forward to the next few months as sports is slowly coming back! Let's find a way to get 1% better every day!

      AS AN ATHLETE

                            17+ years of experience

I've started playing basketball around 9 years old. Early on, I knew I wanted to play at the highest level and compete in this game for as long as I could. Following my high school success, I had the opportunity to play at John Abbott College for 1 year before transitioning to Spire Institute Academy in Ohio, USA.

After playing in over 30 states, I was recruited at Upper Iowa University, an NCAA DII in Iowa, USA. After 18 months of adversity and challenges, I took one of the best decisions of my career, I transferred back home in Montréal, Canada.

I finished my last 3 and a half years of eligibility competing at UQAM in USPORTS DI in Canada. Some of the best times and lessons of my life happened right here in my own backyard. In April 2019, I made the jump to finish my education in the United Kingdom while touching the professional level. In August 2020, I left Canada for my first professional contract in the UK before COVID-19 shut our season.

Even though my career didn't end like I thought it would, I have zero regrets knowing that I've given everything to this game. Late nights, early mornings and all the right sacrifice. This game has given me nothing but blessings and incredible memories. I'm excited for what's next and to help future athletes reach their professional dream!
